Lyrics To Live By!

Oh the smallest thing can all the difference, Love is alive, Don't listen to them when they say, You're just a fool, Just a fool, You believe you can change the world.

Carrie Underwood Wants To "Undo It"

Well the third and final installment of Carrie Underwood's Play On album preview with iTunes comes to a close with the release of "Undo It" yesterday, she should most definitely consider releasing this one as a single! Now it's time for the full album on the 3rd.

In "Undo It", Carrie shows a very strong country side in the first verse, then the chorus take a turn to very Rock/Pop, and she knocks it out of the park, sounding like something Miranda Lambert or Kelly Clarkson sing. The song is co-written by Carrie and Idol judge Kara DioGuardi.

Hear Carrie explaining for herself the story about "Undo it", then go get it on iTunes. When "Play On" comes out next week you can just click Complete My Album so there is no additional cost for the singles!!

Info Friday

- Keith Urban topped the Billboard country song chart for the week ending Oct. 31 with Only You Can Love Me This Way and Taylor Swift's "Fearless" was back atop the album chart going from third to first.

- Tim McGraw announced Thursday he will kick off the Southern Voice Tour in February with dates into the summer. Lady Antebellum will open the shows.

McGraw released "Southern Voice" on Tuesday, his first album of new material since "Let It Go" in April 2007. As usual, his backing band, the Dancehall Doctors, were the musicians on the disc.

"I'm real excited to have this opportunity to hit the road next year with the 'Southern Voice' tour and look forward to playing new songs and old favorites for all my fans," said McGraw, who will perform this morning on Today as part of the Toyota Concert Series on Rockefeller Plaza. On October 27th he'll appear on The Jay Leno Show where McGraw will be joined by Gregg Allman for a rendition of Southern Voice. McGraw will close out the week with an Oct. 29 performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. On Nov.13, CMT will premiere "INVITATION ONLY: TIM MCGRAW," a one-hour special featuring McGraw performing before a small studio audience and taking questions from fans.

- Carrie Underwood answer questions for The Boot and showed her respect for her peers.

Who do you think is the most underrated singer in country music?

Miranda Lambert! She gets attention and people know who she is, of course, but I'd lose an award to her any day. I just think she's supertalented and really sweet and fun. I think she deserves more accolades. She gets some, but she deserves more.
When offered an advanced copy of Miranda's new album "Revolution", Carrie turned down the offer and said "No, I'm going to go out and buy it".

- Kenny Chesney may not be launching his typical stadium summer tour in 2010, but that doesn't mean he's going to be hanging in the islands all year. Chesney will headline Bama Jam and the Bayou Country Superfest next year, he announced Wednesday.

"I can't imagine a year not rocking the fans... not seeing those faces or hearing my songs sung back to me," Chesney said. "That is where I'm the most alive, and those people are such a big part of who I am and why I do this. To me, not being out there would be the worst thing I could imagine."

"For us to be able to get out there and rock at a few of these festivals, it means we can do the big show people expect without having to put six months into getting ready for it. Me and the guys can come on out, play the songs as hard as possible and get to be part of everybody's summer... whether it's kicking it off at LSU's Tiger Stadium or getting June started at Bama Jam."

I personally hope he will include the 2010 CMA Festival!!!

Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home" Makes You Think

Well I don't think since she put out "Jesus Take The Wheel", has she recorded, a more inspirational song. "Temporary Home", is not only about moving on to heaven as one would assume, but also just moving on and out of rough situations.

The message is simple and to the point. Underwood does not use any gimmicks to sell this one, with her power vocals....it's just not needed. You can hear the emotion and conviction in her soft voice, in which she really shows off the growth of her falsetto. Showing more growth is the fact that this was all Underwood's concept and vision!

"Temporary Home" is the second installment for the iTunes, preview of "Play On", her third and most anticipated album. With the release of the song today also came another interview with Underwood telling the premise of the song. These little introductions, that she is doing for these pre sale song, are really letting people see a side to Underwood that most don't get to see, and it is very refreshing.

"If “Before He Cheats” and “Last Name” can each win at the Grammys, it would by a travesty if Carrie Underwood does not take home an award for “Temporary Home” sometime in the near future. If ever there was a song that deserved such recognition, this is it."
Idol Live

You can purchase the song on iTunes today, here's the interview;

Keith was named songwriter-artist of the decade for his lengthy string of No. 1 hits. Keith earned NSAI's songwriter artist of the year award in 2003, 2004 and 2006 and was named BMI's songwriter of the year in 2001, 2004 and 2006.

At this year's banquet, Swift received the NSAI's songwriter-artist of the year award for having written hits such as "Love Story" and "Our Song."

-Brad Paisley has teamed with actor Zach Quinto, producer Mark Schwann and writers Neal Dodson and Matt Bomer to create and co-produce a TV show for the CW Network, tentatively titled Nashville. According to a press release, the drama will focus on "an aspiring young female singer destined for stardom and a male songwriter whose career isn't as certain." The show is scheduled to begin airing on the CW network next season. "I'm very excited to portray the country music world of my favorite town, Nashville, by showing the exciting life of musicians, songwriters and performers -- all very talented people," Paisley said. "Look for some of your favorite country music stars to make their acting debuts on the show -- either by playing themselves or as a character in the script. Country songs are like great scripts already, and it's going to be fun to see how some unfold on the show."

Also in Brad TV news, he recently taped a skit for Carrie Underwood's holiday variety special, in which he is a guest.

-Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook are expecting their first child in March.

-Taylor Swift will host Saturday Night Live on Nov. 7 and will also perform during the show. In an interview with The Associated Press, Swift said she's been thinking about comedy ideas based on her life. "There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits," she said.

-Carrie Underwood performed Friday evening at the official opening of Singapore's newest shopping mall, ION Orchard.

Her showcase in Singapore was her first public performance in an Asian country, and Underwood said she hopes to be back during her tour next year.

"I would love to (come back here)! It was so much fun," she gushed. "People were singing along with me and I was surprised! I mean, country music I know is not that big outside the US, so coming here and seeing people singing along was a real treat!"

And from the reaction of her audience, this all-American girl is a flavour with a lasting taste.

Garth Brooks "The Great" Out Of Retirement For Wynn

Billionaire Steve Wynn announced Thursday that he had talked Brooks into coming to Las Vegas for what’s envisioned as a series of intimate, solo acoustic performances that will begin Dec. 11 at Wynn’s 1,500-seat Encore Theater.

Brooks is named by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) as the best selling solo artist in US history, surpassing Elvis Presley (but still #2 after the Beatles) with audited sales of 123 million. All this on the strength of only six albums! Wow!!!

So why would a man being a the peak of his success just call it quits in 2001? The answer is really quit simple.

Following the collapse of his marriage, he’d promised his daughters (who were 4, 6 and 8 at the time) to make his family the top priority in his life until all three went off to college, and that simply wasn’t compatible with a hard-touring road hound like Brooks.

Many offers have been sent Brooks way and he has turned them all down, fans have pleaded with him for years, and still he wouldn't, but when Wynn first brought up the idea of playing in Vegas, “I said he couldn’t afford me,” Brooks told a couple dozen journalists and several hundred fans gathered in the Encore Theater looking on as Brooks and his new business partner sat on stools on the theater’s stage. After a well-timed pause, Brooks added: “I was wrong.”

Wynn's goal, to create a situation where Brooks could perform while still honoring his commitment to his family. “In order to accomplish this goal,” Wynn said dryly, “I will confess I had to buy him a jet plane.”

So Brooks will become Wynn’s weekend warrior. He’ll play one show Friday night, two on Saturday and one more Sunday, a schedule that allows him to take his girls to and from school every day. They’ve initially announced five weekends’ worth of shows, something of a trial balloon for the concept. He said they're only announcing dates essentially one quarter at a time so he can schedule them around his kids' school and extracurricular activities.

One reporter asked, “What was the reaction when you sat our family down and told them you were going back to work?” Brooks said his eldest daughter Taylor’s response was, " ‘Thank goodness!’ ”

Brooks is a believer in democracy at home as well as in politics, and described regular family meetings where “we sit and we talk about anything and everything” and where each member of the family can freely air complaints or concerns.

“We started talking about the Vegas deal,” said Brooks. “I said ‘Guys, here’s the opportunity that’s come up, here’s where we’re at.’ And when I explained it to them, all they did was look at each other, then Taylor said, ‘Can we go?’ I said ‘Yep,’ and they were in. That was it.

“The truth is,” Brooks said, pausing briefly, “I’m halfway through what I retired to do. And this last half might be even more important than the first half. So I’m not going to let anything screw that up. So I’ve got a guy here who’s been sweet enough to make it easy for me to do this.

“And if it doesn’t work, we’ll quit doing it. And again, I have to now think, am I supposed to be doing this because I’d be stupid to pass it up?” His eyes glance skyward. “We’ll just give it a shot and see.”

There is one flaw in the deal that clearly still gnaws at Brooks: ticket costs. Brooks is known for keeping prices on his concert tours ridiculously low by contemporary standards: $25 or less. Wynn had suggested tiered ticket prices, allowing some seats in the back of the theater to be priced more in keeping with what Brooks fans have been accustomed to, while the middle and front-row seats would be closer to what other top-name acts on the Las Vegas Strip charge. That idea also ran counter to Brooks’ philosophy that fans shouldn’t get preferential treatment just because they’re financially better off.

“But it’s a 1,500-seat theater,” Brooks said, “and my only response is, if you don’t like Vegas, or you think the ticket price is too high, stay at home. Because we’re still on the same plan: that when the children go to school, I’d like to fire the machine up again and tour. So stay at home and I’ll come to your place for a lot less money and hopefully everything will be good then. So it’s kind of like it’s their choice.

“You can tell that’s the only thing I really have a problem with,” he said with a resigned smile. “My job is for them to walk out of here going ‘Dude, that was worth it.’ ”

So save up your dollars if you would like to see "The Great Garth", before he comes fully out of retirement in six years from now.

Welcome back Garth!

Carrie Underwood Is All The Buzz, Everywhere!!!

This girl has got it all going for her this time around. Not that she hasn't had it all along, since she stepped off the American Idol stage, but with the upcoming release of her third album "Play On" she is a wanted woman.

This week it was officially announced that she will be hosting her own two hour holiday variety show on Fox in December. She will be show casing her hits, holiday classics, and new music. There will also me guests on the show, so far Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and and fellow American Idol David Cook, have signed on.

Billboard let a teaser out this weekend with a minute long preview of another song off the new album, called "Mama's Song". The full song has been released on iTunes, with buyers waiting, she now holds the top 2 spots on iTunes in the country genre.

"Mama's Song" is a very endearing, and sentimental song. Carrie released an intimate interview on her YouTube page about "Mama's Song". You can tell she holds this song very close to her heart, and that she truly sings it with conviction to her mother. The song is telling a mother that it is okay to let go, that she found a man, and this man is good in every way, and will take care of her, so there is no need to worry, she has found exactly what a mother wants for her daughter. This song may be a dedication to her Mother for raising her the way she did, Carrie has never been shy to say that her Mother is her "Role Model". I just have to say you have done a great job with this fine young gal Mrs. Underwood, thanks to you

Superstar Carrie Underwood’s new album Play On, will release on November 3, and a new track from the album will be available for purchase and download exclusively on iTunes every week for three weeks, with each new song also available as a free 60-second preview on Billboard.com.

The exclusive iTunes Countdown pre-release tracks, which begin today with “Mama’s Song,” all count toward the purchase of the full album through iTunes’ Complete My Album feature. The subsequent tracks include “Temporary Home” (available 10/20) and “Undo It” (available 10/27).

For each new track every week, fans will be able to visit Billboard.com for a 48-hour sneak preview of the song immediately prior to its Tuesday release on iTunes, with each posting remaining on Billboard.com for a week from its debut.

In addition to the weekly online previews at Billboard.com, Underwood will be the focus of an online feature as well as a cover feature in the print edition of Billboard, on sale October 16.

I'm sure people are not going to mind seeing Carrie every where, cause that's how it looks like it is going to be well into the new year. After the new year she will be starting what is said to be an even bigger tour then her 153 dates she did for her Carnival Ride tour.

Country Artist Doing Good

Commemorating breast cancer awareness month, the Opry's signature barn backdrop took on a pink hue when Underwood flipped the switch at this past Friday's performance. A portion of the Opry's proceeds were donated to Women Rock for the Cure and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Underwood said the Opry performance provided the perfect opportunity to spread the message.

"People are going to be here anyway, some people may not even know that we're turning the Opry pink. They might be out there and learn something new."

"There are a lot of people out there who have been fighters and who have made it through cancer, but there are a lot of us who don't want to have to go through that fight. Of course, nobody wants to, but we want to make sure that doesn't happen, so we're honoring the people who have been through it and who have made it through it. We're supporting them, we're raising awareness and we're hoping to stop it in its tracks."

What is Carrie Underwood Up To?

First there is this from last week; Adam Shankman Juggles Judging, Movies and a Variety ShowDirector, producer and choreographer Adam Shankman just might be earning the title of the hardest working man in showbiz. He’s currently dancing nimbly between a busy movie career, a now-permanent slot as a judge for So You Think You Can Dance?, and his latest project: a planned variety show pilot starring Carrie Underwood.

“I’m co-directing and producing a variety special starring Carrie Underwood for Fox with Nigel Lythgoe,” Shankman told TVGuideMagazine.com at the “Rock A Little, Feed A Lot” Benefit Concert for Feeding America, which the seemingly tireless helmer also produced and directed. The show is currently “just a pilot” at the moment, he said, but it may become something more regular.

“I think they want to do something along the lines of The Mandrel Sisters,’ Shankman said, recalling the 80s-era variety show headlined by country star Barbara Mandrel and her siblings. “They want to bring back the variety show and Carrie’s gorgeous and talented and fabulous.”

Then on Sunday he tweeted this;
@adammshankman On good day la tomorrow morning. Also like 16 fox affiliates for SYTYCD, then off to shoot sketches for carrie underwood special. Zzzzzzz

Then there is this; She snuck into LAX Sunday evening, not really she was swarmed by the Papz and of course TMZ. She had her dog (Ace) in one arm and luggage in the other.

And last there is this from yesterday; Hurry up so you can see Brad Paisley for free!

Wanna see Brad Paisley for free? Do you live in or near Nashville? Then listen up and act fast. Brad will be taping an exclusive 300 person performance for an upcoming Carrie Underwood TV Special. Carrie wont be on hand, but Brad will be singing a couple of songs for his part of the upcoming Carrie Underwood FOX TV Special. Here's the 411.

Here are the details:

Thanks Carrie Underwood, A Year Ago I Witnessed A Dream Come True

One year ago today I witnessed a young girls dream come true at a Carrie Underwood concert. I don't think a day goes by when I don't think of young Hayley. Here's my story;

I had been selected to attend a Meet and Greet with Carrie Underwood at her concert in Detroit. When the big night came, I was last in line and there were about a dozen people before me and it had already been about forty-five minutes when I was joined in line by a little girl named Hayley, who was with her aunt. The girl was so excited, I asked her if she wanted to go ahead of me, and they did. She was so cute, jumping around and asking where Carrie was. I asked her, “Do you have something for Carrie to sign”?

Her aunt said “No, just the tickets.” I had brought my Carnival Ride cd jacket, so I offered her a picture from the booklet. Her eyes were so big when she said “Yes, please!” Her aunt was very appreciative, while seeming to slightly tear up. She told me that Hayley was supposed to meet Carrie this past April, but it didn’t work out with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My heart sank as I learned that the little girl in the cowboy hat has leukemia. They had managed to get meet-and-greet passes for the show at the very last minute.

Matt, who works with Carrie, told Hayley to peek around the corner. She looked, and then she covered her mouth with one hand. She looked back at us and said, “She’s real pretty!” Once Carrie made eye contact with her, Hayley ran over to her while Carrie went down on her knees, Hayley nearly knocked her over. I didn’t think Hayley was going to let go.

As Carrie was signing their tickets and the picture from the booklet, Hayley’s aunt started to tell her about the Make-a-Wish foundation. The tickets had come through so late that Carrie wasn’t aware of why Hayley had meet-and-greet passes. Without missing a beat, she went on with Hayley like she wasn’t there because of the possibility of the inevitable. There was no sign of remorse or pity. Kudos to Carrie!

Hayley noticed a Little Mermaid bag on the autograph table and asked Carrie, “What’s inside there?,” Carrie looked in the bag and said, “Some letters. Do you like the Little Mermaid?” She said “Yes,” and Carrie said, “I do too”. When Carrie brought the bag down to Hayley’s height and opened it, it started to play the tune “Under The Sea.” Carrie started to dance and she sung the whole song to her. Hayley was laughing and dancing, too, and told Carrie, “You’re silly!” I was starting to get very emotional watching in disbelief of what I was seeing.

Carrie knelt down and asked for one last hug, and asked, “Do you know the words to ‘All-American Girl’?” She said “No, but I know ‘Wasted’!” (which is quit a significant song since it is about not wasting life) Carrie told her, “You can’t do that one! If I ask you to come on stage with me, will you dance with me again and maybe I can sing the words that I tell you?”

Carrie delivered on her promise. Only a handful of people knew the story behind Hayley being on the stage, so I’m pretty sure people thought I was crazy for crying so much as I watched them sing together. The way they danced together on stage was how they were dancing downstairs to the Little Mermaid bag. Carrie let her finish the song, and as Hayley hits that final note, Carrie’s got her hand in the air, closes her eyes for a second, then looks at Hayley with the most joyful of smiles (as seen in the picture above). I knew at that moment that Hayley’s dream had come true.

I still look back on that night with amazement. You think your problems are bad and the weight of the world feels like it is on your shoulders, until something like this comes along and happens. You see how courageous Hayley is, happy and positive. You see the way Carrie was with her and how her kindness can impact things. I find myself wanting to be a better person, to be more positive and helpful. I have kept in touch with Hayley and her Mother thanks to my video on YouTube she reached out to me. I am happy to say Hayley is healthy. I hope to one day see Hayley again and to meet her mother, so I can thank them both for the impact they made in my life. I also hope that Carrie will somehow find out about all the good that came from her amazing act of kindness.

Carrie Underwood's Cowboy Cassanova Has Lift Off!!!

It has been nothing short of an explosion of a single for Carrie Underwood with the sassy and gritty "Cowboy Casanova". Now this is Underwood's fastest rising single in her career which has garnered TEN continuous #1 singles, and it looks like #11 will soon join them. I can see she ready is for more milestones, and breaking more records during the upcoming year.

Also Underwood made her way onto the Billboard Hot 100 Chart last week, with an entry of #96, only to make the biggest jump of this week to #11. It seems all genres love "Cowboy Casanova". If it stays on the move like it has been Underwood could find herself atop of the Hot 100 for the second time, the first being with "Inside Your Heaven" in 2005.

"Cowboy Casanova" is country, rock and pop all in one. With these chart #'s Underwood is giving a schooling to other country artist that you do not need to compromise and remix your music for it to be successful in other genres. Kudos to her!

The 2009 country music missing link, The Queen of Country is back and she is standing tall and wearing her crown proudly, making all notice!! I can see there is going to be plenty of Carrie news for months to come.

I'll post the video when it becomes available to Canada.
