Lyrics To Live By!

Oh the smallest thing can all the difference, Love is alive, Don't listen to them when they say, You're just a fool, Just a fool, You believe you can change the world.
Change, Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood Is Everywhere, CMA Fest & Other News

Carrie Underwood is off to a Super (Bowl) start for the New Year
It is possible that, the above title is an understatement! She really is everywhere and I think for her this year has been more then Super so far, and only look to get better (if possible).

After getting engaged in just before Christmas, Underwood went back to Nashville to do some work on her upcoming tour, then it was off to Hollywood to film her small screen debut for "How I Met Your Mother". After she went back for some time with her new fiance in Ottawa only to return to L.A. for the Grammys, where she took part in the highlight of the show the Micheal Jackson tribute, which she receive much praise for.

After the chaos of January she headed off to Miami, to have the prestigious privilege of sing the National Anthem. This portion of the Super Bowl had been pre-recorded since 1993, but Underwood being the artist that she is and would never lip sing, went live for the first time in 17 years. So the nerves must have been tremendous, but she handle it with nothing less then poise, and class. Although there was a faulty note at the end (awaiting the fly over) the performance was what is exactly what is expected when you have Underwood involved in anything, perfection.

Immediately after the game she was jet set for Hawaii, to start filming her big screen debut in the bio epic Soul Surfer. Underwood will play a church youth leader to Bethany, a 13 yr old who had her arm severed after a shark attack while surfing and is now a champion surfer. Underwood's character apparently played a big role in getting Bethany back on her feet, staying positive and to start surfing again. She is said to be filming for he week.

How could there possibly be more....well there is, she will have to return to Nashville to start rehearsing for her Play On tour which begins in less then a month. She just added an additional nine dates to her tour to bring he through the end of June, when presumably she will get hitched. After the wedding there is already talk about a fall leg of the tour she announced at the Super Bowl press conference. At the press conference she impressed the room full of male reporters with her whit, humor, class, and love for "Pants On The Ground". She went in depth to explain how "Pants On The Ground" is a song with a message, much to the crowd and Queen Latifah's delight. Here's the clip;

2010 CMA Fest
Underwood was the the first artist announced for the CMA Festival June 10 - 13, with a surprise phone call to one of her biggest fans who emailed the CMA requesting Underwood's appearance at the Festival this year.

Just announced today Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Reba McIntire, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band! Wow that is already more then worth the cost of a four day pass! Check out all your CMA Fest info here;CMA Fest

Keith was named songwriter-artist of the decade for his lengthy string of No. 1 hits. Keith earned NSAI's songwriter artist of the year award in 2003, 2004 and 2006 and was named BMI's songwriter of the year in 2001, 2004 and 2006.

-Brad Paisley has teamed with actor Zach Quinto, producer Mark Schwann and writers Neal Dodson and Matt Bomer to create and co-produce a TV show for the CW Network, tentatively titled Nashville. According to a press release, the drama will focus on "an aspiring young female singer destined for stardom and a male songwriter whose career isn't as certain." The show is scheduled to begin airing on the CW network next season. "I'm very excited to portray the country music world of my favorite town, Nashville, by showing the exciting life of musicians, songwriters and performers -- all very talented people," Paisley said. "Look for some of your favorite country music stars to make their acting debuts on the show -- either by playing themselves or as a character in the script. Country songs are like great scripts already, and it's going to be fun to see how some unfold on the show."

Also in Brad TV news, he recently taped a skit for Carrie Underwood's holiday variety special, in which he is a guest.

Her showcase in Singapore was her first public performance in an Asian country, and Underwood said she hopes to be back during her tour next year.

"I would love to (come back here)! It was so much fun," she gushed. "People were singing along with me and I was surprised! I mean, country music I know is not that big outside the US, so coming here and seeing people singing along was a real treat!"

Carrie Underwood's Star Shines Even Brighter Tonight

More Accolades for Underwood

There is no end in sight for this young starlet. How much more could she possibly achieve, right? Well it looks like a lot more with her recent CMA Award nominations, and with her new single "Cowboy Casanova" skyrocketing up the country charts, also a new album "Play On" due out Nov. 3rd.

Tonight she will be inducted into The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, which is considered a huge honor when so many great artists come out of that state, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill and Blake Shelton to name a few. She will be performing a full set which will most likely included some new material.

Underwood was quoted saying in a video to be shown tonight "Life is what you make of it.... And we're all dealt a different set of cards." I'm sure their are many people not only in her home state but around the globe that are very pleased with cards Carrie was dealt!

This honor will be added to her long list of acccomplishments which include over 50 industry awards, most recently she won ACM's Entertainer Of The Year, reigning 3x consecutive CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, 4x Grammy winner, and becomming the youngest artist to be inducted into The Grand Ole Opry. We can't leave out the fact that she holds the record for having the fastest selling debut country album in Nielsen SoundScan history, and "Some Hearts" is also the best-selling solo female debut album in country music history. Underwood is also the first artist to have 10 consecutive singles go #1 on the strength of her first two albums.

I'm sure this is most definitely not where here star is going to stop, it will only keep getting brighter!

Tuesday's Music Review

Brooks & Dunn's new album "#1's...and then some" drops today and it looks good for the big B&D fans. It is a double disc which features their finest and two new cuts. Now to come is one LONG goodbye, with their "Last Rodeo Tour" starting in 2010 and lasting prety much the whole year. The album is essentially their third Greatest Hits album, but it is an album that sums up their 20 year run.

Reba McEntire's "Keep On Loving You" took the the top spot as the #1 country album, while Jason Aldean's "Big Green Tractor" was the #1 song.

CMA Awards Predictions; Female Vocalist of the Year

Female Vocalist of the Year
This award is based on individual musical performance on records or in person. Award to artist.

Carrie Underwood - Kevin J. Coyne says "Does she deserve to join the illustrious ranks of four-time winners in this category? You betcha. Given that Underwood’s a happy medium between Reba McEntire’s country-pop and Martina McBride’s power balladeering, she seems to fit in perfectly.

Oh, and if it seems too soon for Underwood to be in the same league as McEntire, remember that Reba wasn’t a superstar when she won those four trophies. She didn’t even earn a platinum album until two years after her winning streak ended."

Normally I would say enough said, but it isn't. She is the most consistent female we got today, not to mention her vocals are perfection whether it be recorded or live, she never faulters. Carrie has a string of firsts but a very impressive one for this category is that she became the first artist to have her first 10 releases go to #1 and all came from her first, two albums.

I would put money on this one this year and years to come!

Possible Contenders - Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Lee Ann Womack, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, or Patty Loveless.
