Well it's not hard to see why Carrie Underwood won ACM Entertainer of the Year! Twice!!
I set out last weekend on a gals road trip to Toledo to do some shopping and catch a Carrie Underwood concert. Myself being a big fan and the others were just going for the fun and because they like her music. Four songs into the set I was being nudged to hear "she is amazing, now I know why you like her so much". Between the 4th song and the last song of 23 these ladies had danced, laughed and cried multiple times.
Underwood's voice could move you to tears itself ie. Temporary Home, but when you add the massive production that she had emote each song that much more. Each song had its own theme and story going on behind her other right in the middle of it. Just A Dream did see just like that a dream, with a large tree branch coming down from the rafters, with a rope swing on it. Then Underwood comes out in a very southern dream like dress and sing the emotional ballad while swing up high and not missing a beat.
Mama's Song was truly emotional, you could pick out the people in the crowd who were mother's that's for sure, there were not too many dry eyes. As Underwood sat a silver grand piano and sang the beautiful ballad written for her Mother, with pictures of her and her mother from birth, to tee ball, graduation, the golden ticket from American Idol, her Mother was there for it all. The song ended with a picture of her and new fiance spanning all four screen which seemed to be them on a lake very casual and affectionate.
The two hour set was filled with flawless vocals, a production that should set a new standard and all eyes glued to the star who presence commanded your attention and captivated it.
CMA Entertainer of the Year doesn't seem that far off for this super star!
I suggest that all should try and take in one of her shows as she just added a fall leg to this already successful Play On Tour!
Event dates can be found here.
Lyrics To Live By!
Oh the smallest thing can all the difference, Love is alive, Don't listen to them when they say, You're just a fool, Just a fool, You believe you can change the world.

Moments Like This
Moments like this are the reason I love Country Music, or music in general. Country music is the most honest genre there is. The songs are so real and filled with meaning, that effect everyone in different ways love, loss, life, fun, friendships and the list goes on.
When you get one of those very special songs that comes along and has a lasting and pivotal impact on people, it is something that should be shared and celebrated. Country Music has so many of these special songs.
Some don't realize just how special a song may be till they see it being performed. The instance I am speaking of happened this past Sunday at the ACM Awards. There were many good performances throughout the night, with a lot of the artists trying different gimmicks and arrangements to make their performance stand out.
There was song that brilliant change to it's instrumental rearrangement, and you knew when you saw them musicians being used that this was going to be one of those special moments. Carrie Underwood's Temporary Home was that moment, the performance of the night. The song was stripped down, her band replaced with classical instruments, the stage was simple with a white curtain back drop, a carpet of pastel flower petals, and in the center stood Ms. Underwood. She was beaming while performing her self proclaimed favorite song. Her vocals were flawless and astounding, a standard that all female artist should strive for.
She brought the crowd to their feet with tears in their eyes, when you can do that to your peers you know it was something special.
Here it is hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
